Asia Cu Chi Tunnels - Vietnam
Disneyland - Hong Kong
Sentosa Island, Singapore
Perfect for those of a smaller build are the chilling network of tunnels
at Cu Chi. Used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War as hiding spots
for food & weapons as well as for communication and supply routes,
the 75 miles of tunnels played a vital part in the eventual withdrawal
of the American troops. Today visitors can crawl along sections of the
tunnels which were once riddled with booby traps, although be careful
as some do still remain to this day!
Disneyland, Hong Kong, although not nearly as big as its American parent,
still invokes that same Disney magic and excitement as the bigger parks.
Both children and adults alike will delight at the recreational activities and
the attractions on offer. Rides cater for all ages whereas the Arboretum
and lake provides a relaxing respite for when the excitement becomes
too much.
There are many attractions that draw visitors to Singapore; high tea at
Raffles Hotel; world-class shopping at Orchard Road, breakfast with the
animals at the acclaimed Singapore zoo, but it's probably the attractions
of Sentosa Island that will be the biggest hit with the kids. With its
Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom; Underwater World and Dolphin
Lagoon; and 2 mile long beach amongst its attractions, Sentosa Island
might just be worth taking a day out of your schedule to visit.
