An international icon, a visit to the Opera House is a must on your “Sydney To Do” list. Designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon and opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1973, the Opera House cost $102 million to build and took 14 years from conception to completion.  Half Day tours are available to view the Opera House either by air or as part of a harbour cruise. Sydney Harbour Bridge

If the Opera House is the most recognisable Sydney image, the Harbour Bridge is the most dominant. From anywhere on the city's quay it is a fantastic photo opportunity but there are a couple of ways to get even more out of it. You can either walk along to the first pylon and climb the 200 steps to the viewing platform, from where you can obtain the best vantage point to take in the city skyline, or do the awesome bridge climb, which involves hooking up a safety line and climbing all the way along the arch right to the very top. Both day and night climbs are available; the latter is particularly spectacular as the city lights are reflected in the water of Sydney Harbour - 134metres below you. A reasonable level of fitness is needed to complete the climb, with the full walk taking three hours to complete.

Sydney Aquarium

Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour is the largest aquarium in the Southern Hemisphere and is definitely a must-see when visiting Sydney. A visit to the aquarium will leave you with an appreciation of the enormous beauty and variety of Australian aquatic life.  Experience the world’s most extensive collection of sharks at the Open Oceanarium. The beach has been popular as a picnic ground, pleasure resort and in more recent times a surfing mecca since 1882, when it was first opened to the public. Some of the best surfers in the world nowadays call Bondi Beach home, although with its easy going atmosphere it’s equally welcoming to the surf novice. Hire yourself a surfboard and catch yourself a few waves or alternatively sign up for one or two surf lessons to get you started. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy just sit back at one of the many bars or restaurants and watch the world go by.
